And now it’s opposite day! It’s hard to find chicken breasts because all you can find are CHICKEN WINGS! CHICKEN WINGS! CHICKEN WINGS!

And yes, I (still) WANT CHICKEN WINGS!

This post is happily sponsored by Paradise Fruit Co.

Let’s bake some chicken wings!

When life offers an abundance of something, I stay jump on that overstocked train! If your freezer and fridge are stocked full of chicken wings, here’s a super delicious appetizer idea.

These are quick and easy to prepare and * surprise * they have a twist!

Of course they have a twist! That’s called making our food fun!

The secret ingredient is crystallized ginger.

During the fall and winter holiday season, you may have noticed a plethora of candied fruit on promotion and stocked to the hilt in grocery stores. More specifically, I’m talking about the candied fruit that people buy when they make fruitcake, Stollen, Hutzelbrot, and Panettone to name a few.

Luckily, we can put those candied fruits to good use in savory dishes!

I have a container of crystallized ginger from Paradise Fruit Co. You may have seen this brand before – or have it stocked in your pantry. Labeled under their “Holiday Fruit” brand, I like to keep the crystallized ginger on hand because the ingredient list is simple: ginger, sugar, and a preservative to keep it from spoiling.

This marinade is magical.

For this recipe, I simply chopped up a piece of Paradise crystallized ginger and added it to my marinade. The ginger flavor adds a nice touch of sweetness and POW! Most Walmart stores carry Paradise Crystallized Ginger and their other sweetened fruit like crystallized orange and crystallized lemon. Check out this store locator to find where to purchase.
